Annually, the Volunteer Center helps more than 4,000 individuals, families, corporate and community groups find volunteer opportunities at 360+ community organizations. Volunteers of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds are mobilized to feed the homeless, serve seniors, protect the environment, mentor youth and change our community for the better.

These volunteers create more than $2 Million of value added to our community in volunteer time per year. For every 1 hour we’re open we generate 50 hours of service and for every $1 donated, we give back $20.00 in volunteer time to the community.

The Volunteer Center For Anne Arundel County depends on generous individuals and community-minded companies to fund our programs.  No donation is too small!
Your donation of…

$25 helps connect local youth with volunteer opportunities by distributing copies of the Youth Volunteer Guide to local libraries and schools.  The Guide provides information about hundreds of ways for youth in Anne Arundel County to serve and learn while applying their time and talents in our community.

$50 provides background checks for 2 volunteer mentors or tutors in our Treasure Hunters Clearinghouse Program so we can connect caring adults (“Treasure Hunters”) with kids at hope (formerly “at-risk” youth).

$100 helps recruit and train a volunteer mentor for a child living in poverty or from a disadvantaged household.  Treasure Hunters Clearinghouse mentors are matched with children who are falling behind their peers academically and need help to overcome the achievement gap. 

$250 funds one FLEX Volunteer Leader training class to equip and engage teams of FLEX Volunteers to work with local agencies on projects that increase an agency’s ability to serve its clients and fulfill its mission. Trained FLEX Leaders commit to help manage volunteer projects once a month for 3 to 5 months.

$500 underwrites tools and supplies for our Days of Service, such as Martin Luther King Day of Service or 9-11 Serve to Remember Day. On these special days, we mobilize hundreds of volunteers of all ages and abilities to make a real difference in Anne Arundel County.

$1,000 helps sustain the Volunteer Center’s recently launched and vastly improved website  that incorporates a new cloud-based searchable database. The new website contains important information about programs and services of the Volunteer Center and links volunteers to a growing database of volunteer opportunities at nonprofit, governmental and faith-based agencies in/or serving Anne Arundel County.

The Volunteer Center invites you to share your giving heart with your neighbors and your community by supporting volunteering. In these challenging times when our community is more dependent than ever on volunteers, the role of the Volunteer Center For Anne Arundel County in mobilizing volunteers is more crucial than ever!

Since the Volunteer Center opened in 2001, we have referred more than 33,500 volunteers to over 360 nonprofit, governmental and faith-based agencies creating more than $2.8 Million of added value to our County in volunteer time per year.
